Diamond's clinical pharmacist expertise now more accessible than ever.

For the past several years, Diamond's Office of Pharmacy Therapeutics and Integrated Clinical Services (OPTICS) team has outwatrdly expanded their suite of clinical pharmacy tools and resources to reach more institutional healthcare providers in corrections and long-term care. That expansion has taken a major leap forward with the launch of a new website, opticsclinical.com.

This interactive site provides a space for facility-level personnel like physicians, nurses, and administrators to engage with the clinical pharmacists of the OPTICS team to ultimately promote a multidisciplinary approach to solving clinical challenges. Thanks to opticsclinical.com, providers have easier access to clinical education through reference materials and podcasts and can discover the capabilities of a virtual pharmacy model and medication cost monitoring program.

And that's just the beginning.

The Clinical Pharmacists of OPTICS: Zane Gray, PharmD, BCACP; Stephen Ford, PharmD, BCGP; Henry So, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP; Christopher Bender, PharmD, BCACP; and Nancy Asiedu, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, BCPP.

"Diamond’s specialized Correctional Executive Consultant Pharmacist team has always been and will continue to be an integral part of communication building, providing solutions, and maintaining our important relationships with all of our partners, said Zane Gray, the OPTICS clinical pharmacist supervisor. "Now with the advent and vision of OPTICS, our board certified clinical pharmacists continue to push forward with the prime goal of not only connecting with our health care partners more easily, but also identify more opportunities for collaboration that will ultimately improve patient safety and clinical outcomes for all of our partners to help them maintain and achieve their mission.

"Thanks to this new website, we’re one step closer to achieving our goal.”

Plans for the new website include easier access to and communication with Diamond's clinical pharmacist team, hosted webinars and expanded clinical libraries.

"This is a truly exciting opportunity for OPTICS and Diamond," Gray said. "Being an industry leader not only requires being a knowledge leader, but a leader in new and future technologies to efficiently provide education and communication in order to further integrate our specialized experts into our partner’s medical teams.  The new website really brings every aspect of our clinical pharmacy expertise to the forefront."
