What is OPTICS?
Diamond’s Drug Information Center is now the Office of Pharmacy Therapeutics and Integrated Clinical Services (OPTICS). We are a team of highly qualified and dedicated Board Certified Pharm. D.s who serve as a clinical, consulting and formulary management resource to the customers of Diamond Pharmacy Services.

As OPTICS, we focus on more than just answering medication questions. Our goal is to integrate clinical pharmacy expertise into the day-to-day operations of the providers we serve.
We specialize in the pharmacotherapeutic management of a wide array of medications and disease states, both acute and chronic. Our areas of expertise include Hepatitis C, HIV, asthma, diabetes, pain management, and much more. We offer customers clinical information services, pre-screen consults, pharmacokinetic dosing, and drug-drug interaction recommendations. We also help prescribers to contain costs through collaborative formulary management.
Our OPTICS team is ready to work with your healthcare staff to maximize patient outcomes, identify potential alternative therapies, and improve cost savings where possible.

Our Services
Aside from our disease state and medication management expertise, we also provide:
Ongoing Education
We provide targeted quarterly clinical information summaries focused on cost-effective treatments, new guidelines, and safety updates. We also regularly record webinars covering various disease states available on demand to your medical staff.
Reference Materials
We supply regularly updated reference sheets for your medical staff. This includes information on poison prevention, weights and measurements, beyond use medication dating, commonly used abbreviations, insulin guidance, medication stability and alternative administration techniques, do not crush lists, HIV medication charts, and tuberculin skin test posters.
Specialized Assistance and Guidance
We’re here to assist you with the completion of the FDA mandated REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) requirements. Your team needs a plan to ensure that the benefits of more serious drugs outweighs their risks. We can help.
Medication Surveillanz Monitoring Program (MSMP)
Our Medication Surveillanz Monitoring Program (MSMP) integrates multiple clinical rule sets into custom-built applications that allows our clinical pharmacist consultants and OPTICS team to monitor medication alerts daily. This provides our medical partners the safest individualized cost-effective treatment recommendations for their patients, with the ultimate goal of mitigating adverse drug effects.
Timely Topics
At OPTICS we work to provide relevant, seasonal information on allergies, cough and cold, and sunburn and photosensitivity. We also use calendar health observances like Diabetes Awareness Month and Heart Health Awareness Month as opportunities to provide the latest guidelines and information on these featured topics.
